Betty Robinson

A native of Greer, South Carolina, Robinson resides in Georgetown. A graduate of Meredith College in Raleigh, North Carolina, she received advanced art training at the Chattanooga Art Institute, the Vermont Studio Center, and the University of Tennessee. She has received numerous awards in the South Carolina Watercolor Society, Tennessee Watercolor Society, and Kentucky Watercolor Society. Her paintings are found in many museum and corporate collections.

Through her love of landscape, whether from life or from the mind’s eye, she captures the ever changing coastline of the South Carolina Low country. Her use of color as line and line as color is evident as watercolor and color pencil intertwine with light and movement. The immediate impact of her work is the striking use of color combined with an abstract take on a predominantly realist landscape. The result is an energized, vibrant painting equally comfortable in a traditional or modern environment.
