Matthew J McCoy

McCoy attended Kansas City Art Institute in the early 1980s, but received his B.A. degree from the University of Kansas in Lawrence. He received his M.F.A. degree in sculpture from Stanford University in California in 1987. His works have appeared in exhibitions at the Walker Art Gallery at the University of Nebraska, the Leedy Voulkos Gallery SOFA exhibition in 1997, and the Stanford Art Gallery in California.

McCoy has received several awards and fellowships, including the Prix de Paris from Stanford University and the Lockwood Fellowship Grant from the University of Kansas. The Spencer Museum of Art at the University of Kansas and the Menorah Medical Park in Overland Park, Kansas, include his work in their collections.
