Sara Frischer prefers using soft pastels and oils in her plein air, or outdoor, practice. Working from life provides a framework for her to explore color and space within the composition. Inspired by master French painters, Frischer paints landscapes of her hometown, Sherman, Connecticut, in a vibrant, impressionistic style. She characteristically uses varied brush strokes of golden browns and cool blues with bright color accents to perfect her nature scenes.
