William Anzalone

William Anzalone has earned the reputation as one of Texas’ most compelling landscape artists. His paintings hang in numerous private, corporate and public collections, including The Museum of Fine Art – Houston.

Living in the countryside near Round Top, Mr. Anzalone paints the forms, patterns, light and color around him. His images are the grassy fields and groves of trees that surround his studio/home. Ultimately, his paintings and pastels are masterfully layered plays of light.

Mr. Anzalone was educated in Brooklyn Public Schools and graduated from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology with a BA in Architecture in 1958. He won the Rotch Prize in Architecture in 1958 and practiced architecture in Massachusetts from 1958-1959. Mr. Anzalone came to Houston, Texas in July 1959, and began teaching at the University of Houston. He also taught briefly at the Museum of Fine Arts Houston School.

William Anzalone has had many one man shows and group shows in Texas, Massachusetts, and New York. The Red & White Gallery is honored to be on this list.
