Paula Crown was born in Marblehead, Massachusetts. She has an AB from Duke University and an MFA School of the Art Institute of Chicago. She has had recent solo exhibitions at Rockefeller Center and Marlborough Gallery in New York City and her public artworks have been exhibited at the Miami Design District and at The Mint Museum in Charlotte, NC. In 2009, President Barack Obama appointed Crown to the President’s Committee on the Arts and the Humanities. She is an active member of the Board of Trustees of the Museum of Modern Art in New York and serves on The Aspen Institute Committee of the Arts.
