Inspired by nature, the neighborhoods of San Francisco where she lives, and her own memories and imagination, painter and muralist Chelsea Ryoko Wong blends saturated colors, vibrant patterning, and flattened, stylized forms to conjure the joyful promise of human connection. Working in an intuitive, free-flowing process devoid of preliminary sketches, Wong imbues her multi-figural works with a sense of optimism and positivity.
