Randi Reiss-McCormack experiments with various processes such as mixed-media painting, printmaking, and textiles, using the constraints of each medium to push her works into new territory. “The overarching drive of my work is the play between our physical reality and the lively force of our subconscious,” she says. “Guided by intuitive prompts, the work evolves into new forms. Abstraction gives form to things residing and imprinted into our subconscious by combining with visual components of color and shape attached to the external world.” Her recent works focus on the “imprint of organic shapes and forms derived from nature.”
