to

Patriotism

This once-in-a-lifetime exhibition celebrates our nation’s semiquincentennial through works of America art that tell stories of our history, our values, and our icons. Opening this summer just steps from the White House, Passport to Patriotism underscores how art transcends geography, politics, and national boundaries to tell the American story.

Art as a Visual Passport
Exploring America's Patriotic Narrative

As the United States approaches its 250th anniversary, this exhibition is open to the public and invites audiences to reflect on the symbols and ideals that define America. The American artists, whose innovations and perspectives have profoundly shaped contemporary culture far beyond the nation’s borders, underscore how art transcends geography, politics, and national boundaries.

Curated by Mark Lubell and Brandon Ralph, this exhibition is presented in dialogue with the mission of Art in Embassies: to use the universal language of art to foster cross-cultural understanding, dialogue, and connection. In 1776, the big idea of America was the radical possibility of people ruling themselves—a nation self-governed by its citizens.
