Waid received a National Endowment for the Arts Fellowship in 1985, and his work is in numerous public and private collections including the Metropolitan Museum of Art, the Albuquerque Museum of Art, the Tampa Musuem of Art, IBM, and the McDonalds Corporation, among others.
