Fascinated by the city’s evolving form, Anisuzzaman depicts urban architecture and the evolution of human habitation through intricate, geometric compositions. In his large-scale woodcuts, he dissects the layers of city facades to reveal the tension between architectural order and the human experience.
Anisuzzaman earned his bachelor’s degree in printmaking from the University of Dhaka and studied construction and structural design at Rabindra Bharati University in India, before earning a master’s degree in printmaking from Tama Art University in Tokyo, Japan. He is now a professor in the department of printmaking at the University of Dhaka.
