Brian Shure

Painter and printmaker Brian Shure is represented by Katharina Rich Perlow Gallery in New York and Lenore Gray Gallery in Providence. He received a BA from Antioch College, and worked as a professional lithographer for 15 years. He published and printed editions for several years under his imprint, Smalltree Press, and was a Master Printer and Coordinator of the China Woodblock Program at CrownPoint Press from 1987 to 1994. He has given workshops in the U.S., Japan, and Mexico and been visiting artist at Brown University and Cornell University. Master Printer Paul Mullowney of Tokugenji Press in Nara, Japan published Shure’s Ise Jingu print project in the summer of 2000. He is the author of two books on chine Collé, published by Crown Point Press, and a member of the advisory board of Highpoint Press in Minneapolis.. In 2004 he completed a group of murals for the Pittsburgh Federal courthouse.
