Cecile Comblen

I was born in an artistic family in Belgium. My paternal grandfather, Paul Comblen, was a famous architect known for his Art Nouveau style houses. My maternal great-aunt, Marie Blagé, was a well-known watercolor artist.

Canadian by adoption since 1971, I now live in St.Vincent and the Grenadines, but keep a studio in Montreal, Quebec.

My first degree was in Education from the University of Calgary in 1973, allowing me to teach languages. After raising a family, I returned to school to gain a BFA in Fine Arts with Honors from Ottawa University in 1993.

Since then, I have held several exhibitions in Quebec, Ontario, Canada; New York and Miami in the USA; as well as in Mexico, Jamaica, Trinidad and Tobago, the Dominican Republic, Chile and Belgium.
