Chris Roberts-Antieau

Self-taught fiber artist Chris Roberts-Antieau explores the “mysterious origin of joy and the wonder of childhood” in her fabric paintings—tapestries composed of fabric applique and intricate embroidery done on a sewing machine. “My art is really a by-product of my life and what I believe about being alive,” she says. “I seem to be cursed with a constant vision of the ‘big picture’ part of life, which constantly brings forth the same truths – that we are all blessed with the ability to recognize and create joy, and that life is about that creation.”
