Clairan Ferrono

Clairan Ferrono is a mixed media artist living in Chicago. She creates abstract art using commercial fabrics and cloth she produces using surface design techniques: dye, paint, print, and stitching, both by hand and machine. In 2004 she was awarded an exhibition grant by the IL chapter of the National Museum of Women in the Arts. Three of her artworks were chosen to hang in the American Embassy in Côte d’Ivoire in 2007. Her work has appeared in Women in the Arts (Spring 2005), Craft Report (January 2007), Lark’s 2009 book 500 Art Quilts, Sandra Sider’s State of the Art, The Studio Quilt (vol 6), 2011), 100 Midwest Artists by Ashley Rooney (2012), and will appear in Art Quilting Studio. In 2013. She curates exhibits for SAQA and the Fiber Artists Coalition.
