Daniel Sueiras Fanjul jettisons conventional portraits of high-class figures in favor of eclectic, quirky animal subjects. Some of his humorous compositions are rendered in rich color and detail, containing chimpanzees dressed in imperial or aristocratic garb, or beloved television characters set against opulent backgrounds. Fanjul has worked on multiple series since becoming an artist, but his work has always featured the same subjects from different perspectives: “the role of mankind in nature, and the true nature of mankind itself.”
