Denny Winters was a graduate of the Chicago Academy of Fine Arts and was a resident of Rockport, Maine from 1950 until her death in 1985. In 1973 she was the recipient of the Skowhegan Award for the Outstanding Resident Artist in Maine. Her work is included in the collections of the Colby College Museum of Art and the Butler Institute of American Art.
