Eve Stockton

Eve Stockton grew up in rural Ohio and now lives in Alexandria, Virginia. She is known for her large-scale woodcut prints inspired by close observation of nature and an eclectic interest in science. Stockton received degrees in architecture with a minor in fine arts from Princeton and Yale and worked as a registered architect. She has used her background in architecture and art to engage the variables of printmaking and to produce a body of dynamic, graphic images. Her prints are nature/science-based and have been exhibited at the National Academy of Science and have been reproduced on covers of Nature Genetics magazine. Stockton was featured in “Primal Power” in the May/June 2015 issue of Home & Design magazine. She regularly exhibits in the Connecticut, New York, and Washington, DC areas. She has had one-person shows in Ireland and Nova Scotia.

Stockton is an active member of the Center for Contemporary Printmaking and the Silvermine Guild Arts Center. She is represented by Long View Gallery, Washington, DC; Kenise Barnes Fine Art, Larchmont, New York; Bryant St. Gallery, Palo Alto, California; and Carla Massoni Gallery, Chestertown, Maryland. She prints at Lily Press, Rockville, Maryland.
