John Van Alstine

Alstine received his Master of Fine Arts in Sculpture from Cornell University, Ithaca, New York in 1976, and his Bachelor of Fine Art from Kent State University, Kent, Ohio in 1974. Selected permanent collections include Baltimore Museum of Art, Maryland, Carnegie Institute, Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, and the Hirshhorn Museum and Sculpture Garden, Washington, D.C. For the 2008 Beijing Summer Olympics, Alstine was chosen to create a series of sculptures titled Rings of Unity, Circles of Inclusion for installation at the Beijing Olympic Park.
