Maksuda Iqbal Nipa is a Bangladeshi artist known for her vibrant abstract paintings that use layered color and fluid forms to register memory, tension, desire, and resilience. She writes, “I create an unlimited space where there is no oppression.”
Nipa earned her Bachelor of Fine Arts degree in drawing and painting from the Faculty of Fine Art, University of Dhaka, where she trained in realistic painting. She later completed her Master of Education in Fine Arts at Aichi University of Education in Japan, where she began experimenting with fluid forms and overlapping color that came to define her work.
