Marie Straw

Artist Marie Straw, McLean, Virginia, works in acrylics on canvas. Most of her paintings are figures of individuals and families featured in bold colors. Her work also includes abstracts painted on paper with a use of collage.

A former president of the Vienna Arts Society, Ms. Straw is a member of The Art League, the Fairfax County Council of the Arts, and the Spectrum Gallery. She has exhibited in numerous group shows throughout the Washington, D. C. area, including The Art Barn, the Studio Gallery and Spectrum Gallery. Her work was included in the Three River Festival in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania; the North Coast Collage Society Traveling Show; and the Hampton Bay Show in Virginia. She has been presented in one-person shows by Alco Graphics, Rogersville, Tennessee; the Fairfax County Council of the Arts, and The Art League in Alexandria, Virginia.

Ms. Straw is represented in many private collections, and she has received numerous awards and honors for her paintings.
