Painter Meredith Nemirov draws inspiration from the landscape of her Southwestern Colorado home, particularly the aspen trees that grow throughout the state. Nemirov’s oeuvre varies from naturalistic depictions of the environment to more stylized, abstract compositions. She begins with sketches which she later scans and prints as the basis for her works on paper or oil on canvas, using patterns and linear elements to fill all spaces in the painting.
