Nancy Koenigsberg was born in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania in 1927. She has a earned a Bachelor of Arts degree from Goucher College, Baltimore, in 1949, and studied at the New School for Social Research, Skidmore College, and Haystack Mountain School of Crafts.
