Patricia Lima

In each work, printmaker Patricia Shaw Lima interprets residential settings, cityscapes, and the natural world “with all of its attendant beauty and environmental threats.” Lima begins by creating sketches and hand-cutting them into stencils. After painting the images on a Plexiglas sheet and applying ink to the stencils, she prints both the Plexiglas and stencils on an etching press. Together, they are “repeatedly re-inked with varying color for multiple passes through the press until the layers of ink on paper reveal the final image.”
