Riti Dhesi

Riti Dhesi’s paintings, drawings, and prints—containing “occasional hints of the ‘real’”—dance with rhythmic patterns and color variations. They are composed of a myriad of artistic media: acrylic, Caran d’Ache crayons, graphite, collage, watercolor, wax, pen and ink, wood, paper, and canvas. Influenced by her travels to India and Asia and her upbringing in San Francisco, Dhesi’s work incorporates colors and images from those parts of the world. She also finds inspiration in wild spaces: “this sensitivity translates into my desire to look at the world, in all its complexity, and to break it down to its unique essence—time and space collapsed into two dimensions.”
