Roger Deering

Roger Deering was born in Maine, and studied painting at the
National Academy of Design in New York City. Over the course
of his career he was a board member and chairman of the Maine
chapter of the American Artists Professional League, and was a
member of numerous other professional art organizations. He
exhibited in many one-man shows, and won several awards.
Deering represented the State of Maine at the New York World’s
Fair in 1940. He founded and taught at the Deering School of
Outdoor Painters in Kennebunkport, Maine, and in Pinehurst,
North Carolina.
