Ruth Ava Lyons

Ruth Ava Lyons received a BFA from Kent State University and MFA from Cranbrook Academy of Art. Recipient of a Fulbright fellowship, American Scandinavian Foundation, Ford scholarship, and several other grants and residencies, including a recent residency at Everglades National Park. Her work has been exhibited in over 100 exhibitions. She has done several public art projects in mural and mosaic,and taught in NC, NY, MI.Her work addresses ideas of loss/renewal, degradation and transformation of fragile ecosystems and our ongoing relationship with the natural world.Selected Collections include the Metropolitan Museum of Art, The Museum of Women in the Arts, DC, Hearst Corp, SAS Institute, Philip Morris NY, Federal Reserve Bank Of Richmond, New Orleans Museum of Art, and St. Johns Museum of Art.
