Timothy Chapman

Timothy Chapman discovered nature’s aesthetic beauty while studying biology in college, prompting him to switch to art. With a preference for acrylic media, Chapman takes inspiration from the copperplate engravings in the French naturalist publication Buffon’s Natural History—as well as Victorian animal portraiture and historic scientific illustrations. He incorporates whimsical humor, tweaking images, and inventing new species for viewers.
