Tom Wesselmann

“The prime mission of my art…is to make figurative art as exciting as abstract art.”

Tom Wesselmann was at the forefront of the pop art movement in New York in the 1960s. He is most well-known for his Great American Nude series, which featured flat figures in an intense palette of patriotic red, white, and blue.
