Washington, D.C. (7News) — A monumental new work by world-renowned American artist Brendan Murphy is making a bold statement in Washington, D.C. Murphy’s 23-foot BOONJI Spaceman, “Serve The Flag,” is now installed outside the Art Museum of the Americas. The carbon fiber sculpture is part of the commemoration of America’s 250th anniversary.

Murphy brings his signature larger-than-life vision to the “Passport to Patriotism” exhibition, with hopes that it will become a more permanent attraction many will visit.

The exhibition also features Murphy’s large-scale “Freedom 250” oil painting inside the museum, which will be on display until October 18.

Together, the works celebrate imagination, freedom, and the enduring spirit of America through a distinctly contemporary lens.
