Perla Krauze was born in Mexico. She completed anthropology studies at Escuela Nacional de Antropología e Historia, School of Anthropology, Mexico City, 1973-74; earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in graphic design in 1977, Escuela Nacional de Artes Plásticas, Universidad Nacional de Mexico; received a diploma in textiles from Goldsmith College, London, England in 1980; and earned a Master of Arts degree in fine arts, painting, and sculpture from Chelsea College of Art, London in 1993. Her honors include a 2006 residency, Santa Fe Art Institute, New Mexico; a 2004-07 FONCA fellowship, Sistema Nacional de Creadores de Arte; and a 2002 residency, FONCA, Banff Centre for the Arts, Canada. Krauze’s work is in many collections, including those of Museo de la Estampa, México D.F.; Museo de Arte Contemporáneo de Oaxaca, México; and Museo de Arte Contemporaneo, Colección Manuel Felguerez, Zacatecas, México.
