As a woodblock printmaker and a founding member of Printmakers, Inc. located at the Torpedo Factory Art Center, Alexandria, Virginia, I create original color prints. Using a scroll saw, I cut the block, in effect, creating a jigsaw puzzle. The individual pieces either left as
a flat surface or relief cut are inked, reassembled, and printed. I often combine this with the Japanese method, carving a single block per color. No matter how complicated the process, my intention is to create a feeling of simplicity while combining the aesthetic and the craft
inherent in woodcut printmaking.
