On November 21, 2024, U.S. Ambassador to Mongolia, Richard Buangan launched a collection of Art in Embassies (AiE) at his residence, in celebration of Native American Heritage month, which has been commemorated every November for several decades in the United States.
“When I first received an email, saying they wanted to use my art, I thought it was spam,” Biskup laughed. “But as soon as I was able to confirm it was real, I understood what an honor this was. I’m one of only four artists selected for this installation.”
Art in Embassies Announces Creative Growth Collection - Art in Embassies announces the establishment of the Creative Growth Collection, comprised of 89 artworks created by artists from the Creative Growth Art Center, all of whom have developmental disabilities.
Art in Embassies Announces Clarice Smith Collection - The first collection, The Clarice Smith Collection, comprises 72 artworks by Washington, D.C.-based artist Clarice Smith. These pieces encompass portraits, landscapes, and still-lifes rendered in oil, pastel, and watercolor. They will immediately become available for exhibit in U.S. embassies and Ambassadors’ residences under long-term loan agreements.
The U.S. Department of State’s Office of Art in Embassies (AIE) continues to commemorate its 60th anniversary through a series of upcoming events as part of the office’s Democracy Collection programming.
