For more than fifty years, Mark Citret has shot tonally rich, skillfully balanced black and white photographs, ranging in subject from expansive landscapes of the U.S. National Parks to expertly composed views of buildings and bridges. This diverse body of work is rooted in Citret’s endless fascination with all aspects of the visual world. As he explains, “I can say that I find the rebar and concrete of a construction site every bit as beautiful as fir trees delicately outlined by freshly fallen snow, and the apparent solidity of an office building as lyrical and ephemeral as fog floating over a sunlit ocean.”
