Born in Fulton Missouri, David Mode Payne attended Westminster College where he graduated as an honors student with a bachelor’s degree in French, active in a variety of campus activities. He later traveled to New York City where he studied at the New York School of Fine and Applied Arts. Payne went on to paint the interiors of the homes of celebrities across America and several of his paintings were reproduced in Home and Garden and Town and Country magazines. His work has also been exhibited at Winston Churchill Memorial and Library at Westminister College.
