The Art in Embassies (AIE) program was established in 1963 by President John F. Kennedy. AIE creates exhibitions for United States chanceries, consulates, and embassy residences worldwide, selecting art from America and the host countries. In the fall of 2014, the exhibition in The Hague was opened by U.S. Ambassador to the Netherlands Timothy Broas and AIE Director Ellen Susman.
